AB: A biography of the University of Alberta's famous hockey club, the Golden Bears, and their history from the founding of the university in 1908 up until the publication of this text with a particular focus on the post war years. The coaching careers of both Andrew Purcell, a 1983 Alberta Sports Hall of Fame and Museum inductee who name still graces the MVP trophy of the team, and Clare Drake, a 1980 inductee who coached the Bears to numerous titles, are touched on. Some of the rivalries and monumental games played by the club are included and the concluding chapter gives a series of short synapses of the lives of some of the 600 men who have played for the Bears. Throughout are excellent photos, data tables and many amusing stories.
