AB: This book provides an intimate look at the many teams and local talent which comprised the Western Hockey League as well as a complete history of the league. The book is organized by the different cities and towns which participated in the league and the many different hockey players who excelled on the teams and went on to the NHL. Among the cities discussed is a chapter on Calgary and the Calgary Buffaloes, Centennials and Wranglers, p43--57. Among the athletes highlighted in the chapter are Scotty Munro, John Davidson, Bob Nystrom, Mike Rogers and several other star junior hockey players. The chapter on the Edmonton Oil Kings, p58-64 includes information on Bill Hunter, Darcy Rota and Harold Snepsts. The chapter on Lethbridge and the Lethbridge Broncos and Hurricanes includes short biographies of the Sutters, John Chapman, Ken Wregget and various other local talents. Finally, there is a chapter on the Medicine Hat Tigers with a mention of Lanny McDonald and a brief chapter which looks at the Red Deer Rebels. Included in the book is an index as well as a foreword by Vince Leah.
