Hunter, Bill. "Oil Kings." Edmonton in Our Own Words. L. Goyette and C.J. Roemmich. eds, 362-363. Edmonton: University of Alberta Press, 2004.

AB: In this book on Edmonton's history is a very brief chapter written as a personal reflection by Bill Hunter on the initial criticisms of bringing a National Hockey League team to Edmonton. Hunter defended his position based on the city's undeniable passion for hockey (a fact he partially attributes to the city's small-town homogeneity) as well as the underlying hockey talent of the city, evidenced by his Edmonton championship junior hockey team- the Oil Kings- who conquered the ice in the late 1960s.
